[ARCHIVED] Seeking Tips in Sex Assault, Kidnapping Case

Eugene Police Violent Crime Unit is seeking tips in the case where a man followed a 19-year-old Eugene woman and used a hammer to threaten her prior to pulling her to an area, where he sexually assaulted her.

The victim was walking on the east sidewalk of N. Garden Way at 7:58 p.m. on February 14, when the suspect walked up to her and began talking to her. She didn’t wish to speak with him and tried to walk faster, but he continued to try and engage her, eventually producing a hammer that he used to threaten her with. He grabbed her and forced her to another location against her will, where he sexually abused her. Afterwards the suspect ran from the scene. The victim was able to get help to call 911 and multiple officers and a K9 unit conducted a search with negative results.

Eugene Police Department is seeking suspect tips. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s. about 5’8” tall, and approximately 160 pounds. If anyone has relevant tips in this case they are asked to contact Detective Cliff Sites, 541.682.5147.
