On July 24, 2017, the president of the United Rotary Clubs of Lane County, a charitable organization, reported one of the club captains, Corrine Marie Koke, age 42, of Eugene, failed to deposit more than $5,000 in raffle ticket proceeds the organization had collected for the 2016 Great Rotary Duck Race event.
A Eugene Police Financial Crimes detective investigated the case and determined that ticket purchases made by the public were entered into the drawing, but some of the money collected never made it to the organization’s bank account.
The detective found that Koke had used the money to pay for her own personal living expenses and charged her with Theft in the First Degree on November 20.
