The combined work of Eugene Police patrol units and Property Crimes detectives has resulted in the successful arrest of a suspect wanted for two armed robberies, which occurred at See’s Candy and Dari Mart within the same half-hour on Halloween night.
On Halloween night, October 31, 2017, at 6:53 p.m., EPD officers were sent to an armed robbery at See’s Candy, 207 Coburg Road. They conducted an area check with negative results. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
At 7:08 p.m., on the same day, there was a second robbery at Dari Mart, 111 Monroe Street. The suspect used a knife to rob the convenience store of cash and then fled. His description matched that of the suspect who robbed See’s.
EPD Property Crime detectives went to work on the two robberies. They sought surveillance images and developed some good leads. On November 7, 2017, at about 3:51 p.m., one of the detectives spotted the suspect near Four Corners. The suspect, Jeremiah Charles Owens, age 26, with no address, was arrested and charged with two counts of Robbery in the First Degree.
