[ARCHIVED] Grab a Bite to Eat at Red Robin, Tip a Cop, Help Special Olympics

Who: Special Olympics Oregon (SOOR), Springfield,Eugene, Oregon State, Oakridge and the University of Oregon Police Departments, and RedRobin


What:Local law enforcement will trade in their patrol cars for aprons at Red Robinin Eugene as part of the national Tip-A-Cop event benefitting Special Olympics.Law enforcement across the U.S. will be collecting tips and helping serverestaurant guests to benefit Special Olympics programming.


When:From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Saturday, October 21


Where:Red Robin, 1221 Executive Parkway, Eugene. We encourage Eugene/Springfieldmedia to visit the local Red Robin for interviews and photos with local lawenforcement and Special Olympics athletes and representatives.


Why: Supporting local and national causes, like Special Olympics, that promote thehealth and welfare of families and citizens in local communities is animportant part of the Red Robin culture. 


Tip-A-Copis part of the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) campaign. LETR, whichincludes an international series of relay runs and special events likeTip-A-Cop, is presented by more than 144,000 law enforcement officers worldwideto help raise money and public awareness for Special Olympics. LETR is thelargest grassroots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle for Special Olympicsthrough which funds raised go directly to local programs in states or countrieswhere the funds are generated.
