[ARCHIVED] Child Sustains Life Threatening Injuries in Crash at Greenhill/West 11th

A crash was reported at 2:45 Sunday morning at Greenhill and West 11th Avenue. The EPD Major Collision Investigation team’s initial investigation indicates this may have been a single-vehicle crash. However, EPD is still looking for the other vehicle that was in the area at the time.


Details: A vehicle with four occupants including two children, hit a light pole. One of those children, Dana Edmond Beaty, age 3 was treated by medics at the scene and then life flighted to a Portland hospital due to the extent of his injuries, which are considered life-threatening. The male adult passenger, Ricky Warrington, age 32, was taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The female driver, Danielle Marie Beaty, age 27, had minor injuries and the other child, Steven Michael Beaty, age 1, had no apparent injuries. MCI responded to the scene to investigate. This incident remains under investigation. If anyone has tips or information in this case they are asked to call 541.682.5111.


While police and medics responded, motorists were advised to avoid the area. West 11th (aka Highway 126 in this area) was closed from Fisher Road to Owen Loop. Additionally, Green Hill Road was closed near West 11th Avenue.
