On Monday, September 25, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. the Eugene City Council will hold public hearings and take action on the current fiscal year (FY18) First Supplemental Budget for the City of Eugene. Members of the public are encouraged to provide their feedback on these items. The meeting will be in Harris Hall, Lane County Public Service Building, 125 East 8th Avenue.
The Agenda Item Summary for the FY18 First Supplemental Budget can be viewed at https://www.eugene-or.gov/DocumentCenter/View/36424.
The purpose of this Supplemental Budget is to appropriate funds and to recognize an interfund loan from the Fleet Fund to the Telecom Fund to purchase radios for the Eugene Police Department. This past May, Washington and Clackamas counties both passed Emergency Communication Systems bond measures and are entering into a contract with Motorola to replace public safety radios. The City of Eugene has an opportunity to piggy back on this contract to purchase EPD radios at a savings of about $700,000. To receive this discount, the City must sign a contract by September 30, 2017.
