[ARCHIVED] Suspect Arrested for Assault 1

Police received a call at 8:53 a.m. today, August 31, regarding a fight between two men at a residence in the 2100 block of W. 12th. Initial call details indicated the possible presence of a firearm and hammer. When police arrived, they found the 55-year-old victim holding the 22-year-old suspect down.

The suspect, Andrew Willliam Hart Beebe, age 22, is reported to have come to the residence looking for another man he thought was there.  The male owner of the residence, age 55, allowed Beebe inside and Beebe ended up assaulting the owner with pepper spray and a hammer. Beebe was also armed with a Co2-type pistol.

Although the owner had been assaulted and injured, he was able to gain advantage on Beebe and hold him until police arrival.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and Beebe was also taken to the hospital for evaluation. Beebe is charged with Assault in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Criminal Trespass in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of Mace in the 2nd Degree, and Theft 3.
