[ARCHIVED] EUG Success!

“It’s back! I am so happy it’s back!” This was echoed on Sunday throughout the Eugene Sunday Streets and EUG Parade events. The return of the parade on Sunday, July 30, in downtown Eugene proved to be a EUG success with thousands of people lining the streets to watch the 35 colorful entries. There were horses, ponies, robots, ballet dancers, folk dancers, the beloved Rickies and more.

Eugene Sunday Streets followed the EUG Parade and included four music stages and special street performances by the Acro Buffos from New York and Eugene’s own Samba Ja.

Attendance for the day was a record high of an estimated 10,700 participants. Organizers hope to use this year’s feedback and include it in next year’s planning to make an even bigger and better downtown event. Take the participant survey to share your event experience: eugene-or.gov/esssurvey

The next Eugene Sunday Streets will be in the River Road neighborhood on Sunday, September 17.  For more information about this event go to EugeneSundayStreets.org.
