Eugene Police Department is proud to announce Forensic Analyst Lisa Pope has earned prestigious certification as a Crime Scene Analyst from the world’s oldest and largest forensic science/identification association, International Association for Identification
Forensic Analyst Pope has worked in forensics profession for 14 years and been a forensic analyst since 2005. She recently applied for and tested for her certification as a Crime Scene Analyst. This is an extensive effort with an application process that takes into consideration many hours of external training, years of experience in crime scene work, court testimony transcripts, and proof the analyst has published papers for the industry, and once past the application process then moves to the association’s approval for testing. The final test is a three-hour exam.
Eugene Police Department’s Forensic Evidence Unit, where Forensic Analyst Pope works, is accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board – International. The Eugene Police Department’s Forensic Evidence Unit (FEU) employs one working supervisor, four full-time civilian forensic analysts, one forensic technician, an administrative aide and has multiple volunteers.
