An Oregon Taxi driver was stopped by police at 14th and Alder after multiple calls by the public to report his erratic driving behavior, including hitting at least one median and crashing head-on into a parked vehicle. He was not carrying a passenger at the time.
Calls began coming in to 911 at 4:30 p.m., today, April 3, when the tax was reported to be swerving on Beltline Hwy. There were more reports from Delta Highway and 6th Street. At Madison and Broadway the taxi ran head on into a parked vehicle. Eugene Fire and EMS was staged in the area and police stopped the taxi at 14th and Alder. Police contacted the driver and detained him. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
