Yesterday, March 20, at 4 p.m., Eugene Police responded to report of a dispute and stabbing at Washington-Jefferson Park. The victim, a 36-year-old man, reported he was checking the park for a runaway when he was approached by two other men. They made allegations toward the victim and started fighting with him. The victim was punched, hit in the head with a shovel by one person and stabbed by the second suspect. Bystanders broke up the fight and both suspects fled the scene. Police searched but did not locate the suspects. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
One suspect is described as a white male, age 18 to 22 years, 5’9” tall, with a thin build, dark hair that came down in a "surfer kid" style over his eyebrows. He was wearing a black windbreaker and blue jeans.
The second suspect, was a white male in his mid-20s, 6’1” tall, with a thin build, short light-colored hair, a reddish goatee. He was wearing a red bandana around the lower part of his face, a red jacket and dark slick rain-style pants.
