[ARCHIVED] St. Patrick's Day and Weekend DUII Patrols

To address the issue of DUII driving and to ensure enough officers are available to identify, stop and process impaired drivers, DUII patrols will be staffed above and beyond the normal strength for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday weekend. These patrols are staffed primarily with the help of funding from state grants. In February, EPD made 67 DUII arrests, which included 52 for alcohol and 15 for other drug related impairments.

In addition to the combined patrols taking place surrounding St. Patrick’s Day, the Eugene Police Department, with help from the grants, will have extra DUII patrols throughout the year.

Don’t rely on LUCK to get home safely!! Be prepared, and plan ahead if you anticipate participating in any of the festivities.
