[ARCHIVED] Suspect arrested following information of Shots Fired on October 10

There were two different reports of shots fired, one in Eugene and one in the county. EPD was dispatched to a neighborhood after people in the area reported hearing shots fired on October 10 at 2:45 a.m. The officer who followed up found evidence of shots that had been fired toward a vehicle at a residence in the 2300 block of Greiner Street.

On October 10 at 3 p.m., a suspect in both cases, Abram Foster Schweikl, age 40, of Eugene, was observed by an officer to be driving. Schweikl had two warrants (Lane County Sheriff’s Office for Possession of Heroin and Possession of Meth Failure to Appear, and Oregon State Parole Board for a Weapon Offense). The officer performed a traffic stop of Schweikl at Lancaster Drive and Tyson Avenue and took Schweikl into custody. Schweikl was found to be in possession of a handgun, ammunition, knives, and methamphetamine.

Schweikl was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon, Possession of Methamphetamine and the two warrants (Case 1617264), and he was charged October 16 with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Coercion, Menacing, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Reckless Endangering (Case 1617063).
