Telecommunicators are often the first point of contact (the first “first responders”) when the public reaches out for help, and they are required to gather and relay information from people who are under extreme stress, while remaining calm and composed.
What: Calltaker/Dispatcher Career Night
When: Wednesday, September 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Emergency Services Training Center, 1705 West 2nd Ave., Eugene
Who: 9-1-1 professionals and human resources staff will be available to answer questions about the calltaker/dispatcher profession and the Eugene Police Department, and to explain the application and testing process.
