The City of Eugene Emergency Management Program is offering a series of educational events and activities throughout September to help community members prepare for disasters. Recent events in Italy and New Zealand impress upon us the importance of preparedness.
Being prepared means you can support yourself and your household for a minimum of three days in the absence of electricity, water service, supermarket access, and first responders.
This year’s events include a vendor fair with opportunities to see emergency kits, speaker events, Community Emergency Response Team training, and participation in the National Great Shakeout Event.

The Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill is an annual opportunity for people in homes, schools, and organizations to practice what to do during earthquakes and to improve preparedness.
