Downtown Eugene is home to an exciting new business partnership supported by the City of Eugene and the Arts and Business Alliance of Eugene (ABAE). Shadowfox, located at 76 West Broadway, has joined forces with Perk Coffee and Espresso to offer coffee, beer and wine at the gallery and studio that features the work of Pancoast, a local artist whose creations range from hand built shadowboxes to up-cycled earrings and unique home décor. Shadowfox opened its doors for business this past weekend.
Shadowfox was founded by Pancoast in 2012. He combines multiple disciplines and techniques in his creations, transforming hand drawings into three-dimensional art pieces. Shadowfox began as a vendor at the Eugene Saturday Market, Oregon Country Fair and other local festivals, before opening a storefront in the heart of downtown Eugene in June 2015.
This unique partnership was the first to be supported through the new Arts and Business Loan Program. The program directly supports arts and culture in Eugene by offering quick, low-cost loans for new projects or business improvements that utilize the arts to promote community and economic development. The funding awarded to Shadowfox was used to improve the gallery space, including lighting, architectural updates and signage, as well as upgrades to support the addition of Perk Coffee and Espresso.
The Arts and Business Loan Program was established by the City of Eugene and the Arts and Business Alliance of Eugene in order to offer a variety of financing options for eligible applicants. Commercial businesses, not-for-profit entities and individual artists are eligible to apply, provided they are located within the City of Eugene.
