Police would like the public to be aware of a burglary trend in the southeast hills yesterday. We investigated two different burglaries, that had similar M.O.s: the unknown suspect(s) entered the victims’ vehicles to use their garage door openers. They then were able to enter the garages and homes. What is particularly disturbing is that in both cases, the suspect(s) did the burglaries while the victims were home and sleeping. The burglaries occurred sometime after 11 p.m. on July 20.
Please keep your doors locked and don’t leave your garage door openers in your vehicle if it not parked inside your garage.
