Fatal Pedestrian/Train Crash

At 10:04 p.m. on June 14, police were dispatched to High & 5th regarding a train/pedestrian crash. The pedestrian, a female, was deceased on scene. She was reported to have been lying on the tracks and sat up when the train approached, but did not get out of the way. The train was unable to stop in time. The Lane County Medical Examiner will conduct further investigation into the female’s identity, while Eugene Police and Union Pacific Railroad will continue to investigate the crash.
