[ARCHIVED] Traffic Advisory - Motorcycle/Vehicle Crash on Coburg Road near Frontier

April 6, 2016

Avoid Northbound Coburg Road - Major Collision Investigation Team is Responding to a Motorcycle/Car Crash near Frontier

Northbound Coburg Road is closed at Frontier while Eugene Police Department's Major Collision Investigation Team investigate a crash between a white Honda 600cc motorcycle and a black Mercedes 4-door C250 sedan. The closure is expected to last for a couple of hours.

According to investigators at 8:22 p.m., the motorcyclist was northbound on Coburg Road and the Mercedes was traveling southbound and made a left hand turn in the Pavillon Parkway in the 400 block of Coburg Road, where the collision occurred. The male motorcyclist has been taken to a local hospital with what appear at this time to be life threatening injuries. The male driver of the sedan was not injured in the crash.

Police are still investigating, but speed and alcohol appear to be factors on the part of the motorcyclist. MCI investigators are asking anyone who saw the white Honda, which has California license plates, prior to the crash, to call Officer Sean Dillon, 541.682.5154, extension 1126.

Names and ages of the involved are not available for release at this time. More information will be provided as it becomes available tomorrow.
