[ARCHIVED] Early Morning Beltline Crash - Truck Crashes into concrete median

At 4:48 a.m., a large Budget truck traveling from Seattle to a post office with packages was traveling westbound on Beltline, where it appeared to have left the roadway for about 75 yards. The driver over corrected, causing the truck to shoot across all lanes, striking the center barrier, crashing through the concrete and landing on its side and sliding across the eastbound lanes of Beltline near Norkenzie, just east of Delta Hwy., coming to rest partially on the pavement and the ditch line. No injuries were reported. Several vehicles from the morning commute sustained damage from the large concrete chunks in the roadway. Eastbound beltline traffic was closed for about an hour.

ODOT will be on scene for a few more hours to facilitate the removal of the large truck. Sergiu Nichiforeac, age 30, from Washington, was cited for Careless Driving.
