[ARCHIVED] Eugene Police Investigating Possible Abduction Attempt Downtown

Eugene Police have received information second-hand about a possible abduction attempt of a female on January 13, 2016 in the afternoon, between 2:45 and 3:00 PM. According to our source, a woman walking near the US Bank branch at 8th Ave and Willamette St. was first followed, and later grabbed by a medium build African American man, 5’06 to 5’07, last seen wearing a dark coat and tan trousers. The man was described as having “gold teeth.” Because police have not yet been able to connect with the victim, no further detail is available at this time.

People walking alone and especially approaching ATM’s or making bank deposits should remain aware of their surroundings, and report suspicious behavior. If you have any information about this incident, please call Eugene Police at the Downtown Station at (541) 682-5280.

Further details will be released if they become available.
