[ARCHIVED] Woman Driving DUII Arrested for Attempted Assault and Other Charges

Woman Arrested for Attempted Assaults, DUII (Controlled Substances), and Other Charged After Reckless Driving

At 10:05 p.m., on November 21, a woman later identified as Willow May, age 32, was the subject of a call from a 31-year-old Eugene man, who reported she drove her Kia Rio station wagon in rapid circles near 2nd and Madison, then drove straight at his parked car. The man followed her and she drove straight at him again and he had to reverse his vehicle to avoid being hit.

Officers responded and one officer located her at 5th and Madison and tried to stop her. A pursuit was not initiated, however May turned her car around and drove directly at the officer's vehicle at high speed. The officer, who had a passenger-rider, was able to maneuver out of the way.

Another officer was in the area and saw May crash into a curb. He took the opportunity to forcibly stop May’s vehicle at 4th and Madison, which put an end to her dangerous driving. She was lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges of Elude by Vehicle, DUII (Controlled Substances), Reckless Driving, two counts of Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, and four counts of Reckless Endangering.
