[ARCHIVED] Police Investigate Death of Man After Semi-trailer Incident - November 12, 2015

The name of the deceased man is Kenneth Richard Harrison, age 51.
The name of the driver involved in the crash is James Himmel, age 64, of Lorane.

News Release from November 12:
Eugene Police, Eugene Springfield Fire EMS, and Eugene Police’s Major Collision Investigation team responded to a call regarding a person down at 1680 W. 18th Avenue that was reported at 2:54 a.m. today, November 12.

A man had been sleeping under an empty semi-trailer. The driver returned to the loading dock with a full trailer, disconnected it and then attached to the empty trailer and began to pull it, but discovered there had been a man underneath. The man had life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital and subsequently has died.

Police are working on notifying the man’s family and will not be able to release his identity until that occurs. Information on the driver’s identity will be released this afternoon. (Since released)
