[ARCHIVED] Man arrested for Intimidating in the Second Degree - Case 15-18603

On October 30 at about midnight, a Jewish fraternity at 791 E. 15th Avenue reported that one of the residents had a confrontation with a person at a neighboring home’s. The 20-year-old male victim reported he was going to walk a female home and noticed a male sitting in the bed of his pick-up truck, which was parked on the side of the fraternity.

The victim told the suspect to get out of his truck and the suspect, later identified as Damien Leon Ramirez, age 23, responded by using anti-Semitic terms regarding Jewish people and the victim in particular. Ramirez was reported to have gotten out of the truck, but kicked the side of it as he was leaving. He is also reported to have made a comment about getting a firearm as he went into his residence nearby. He re-emerged from his house holding something in his hand. The victim could not clearly see what it was.

Police followed up to investigate and on November 5 at 7:30 p.m. responded to Ramirez’s residence in the 700 block of E. 15th. They charged Ramirez with Intimidation in the Second Degree.
