To increase safety and prevent and respond proactively to potential alcohol and behavior problems related to partying, Eugene Police officers and officers from the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) worked in the West and South University area on Saturday October 3rd, 2015.
Once the University of Oregon football game ended, foot traffic in the West and South University neighborhoods increased along with alcohol related violations. The teams patrolled in the West and South University area, while regular calls for service were maintained throughout the city. The night’s activities were designed to prevent and respond proactively to potential alcohol and party-related problems that in the past have been associated with partying, which historically increase during the fall.
