[ARCHIVED] Woman arrested after firing shot into the air

Woman Arrested After Firing Gun within City Limits
Case #15-16440

At 10:41 p.m. last night, September 25, Eugene Police were called to the intersection of Montreal Avenue and Teressa Avenue regarding an intoxicated, armed woman who had shot a round from a gun and was reporting to be walking south on Calgary Street. An Eugene Police officer and a Eugene Police detective located the woman, identified as Carly Rose Morgan, age 34 (of Eugene), in the 2400 block of Gilham and detained her.

An investigation found that she had shot a round into the air while standing next to a friend, who she had been arguing with. An officer found the firearm in the middle of the road in the 2500 block of Calgary, with the magazine nearby.

Morgan was arrested on charges of Menacing, Reckless Endangering, and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm.

Special note: a bullet fired into the air, will come back down (due to gravity), with deadly velocity. ###
