[ARCHIVED] LTD Bus Incident – Bomb Threat


At 4:13 p.m. today there a bomb threat call regarding an LTD bus. LTD Security, Eugene Police and UO Police Department responded and evacuated the few people on board the bus, and then some surrounding facilities for extra safety measures. Individuals at other facilities have been advised to shelter in place.

Traffic was been shut down on Franklin Blvd. in both directions from I-5 exit to Agate. Metro Explosives Disposal Unit has been called out to respond and check the bus. Travelers are asked to avoid the area.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. traffic was reopened to regular travel after the bus was cleared by Federal Protection Services K9 (explosives detection trained), in conjunction with MEDU.

Arrested was Alex Reutov, age 56, who was the driver of the bus. He was charged with
Disorderly Conduct and Interfering with Public Transportation (Criminal Mischief).
