[ARCHIVED] Now Hiring for Central Lane 9-1-1 Careers!

Now Hiring! Central Lane 9-1-1 center! It's a rewarding and demanding profession.

Telecommunicators are often the first point of contact (the first “first responders”) when the public reaches out for help, and they are required to gather and relay information from people who are under extreme stress, while remaining calm and composed. Central Lane 9-1-1 stands out as an employment opportunity: it is the only communications center in Oregon to be accredited by the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch.

The City of Eugene is currently accepting applications for the position of 9-1-1 Calltaker/Dispatcher. There was a “career night” on Monday, August 17, for potential applicants to learn more about the calltaker/dispatcher profession and the City’s candidate selection process. The deadline for calltaker/dispatcher applications is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21 at 5:00 pm. Calltaker/dispatchers’ current salary range is $21.36–$30.09 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits package. For more information or to apply online, candidates can visit http://www.eugene-or.gov/jobs or call (541) 682-5061.
