[ARCHIVED] Love Food Not Waste Turns Food Waste to Compost

Six months into the program, the Love Food Not Waste commercial compost campaign is on target to divert 3,200 tons of food waste from the Short Mountain Landfill within the first year of the program. This collaboration between local food-related businesses, the City of Eugene, local garbage haulers, and local commercial composters converts produce, meats, food-soiled paper, and other waste into valuable, nutrient-rich compost and currently involves nearly 60 food-based businesses in Eugene!
