[ARCHIVED] Shooting at Aerial Way

At approximately 11:55 p.m. on July 15, Eugene Police officers responded to several shots fired in the area of 4075 Aerial Way, complex K. The initial investigation revealed there had been several gun shots fired during an altercation outside of complex K. The shooting resulted in at least one person being injured. The injured person has not been located and their identity is unknown at this time. The wounded person is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20’s to early 30’s with a heavy build.

Officer’s preliminary investigation revealed a substantial amount of US currency, a large quantity of methamphetamine and numerous firearms at the involved apartment. Officers applied for a search warrant and subsequently seized a large amount of cash, narcotics, and six firearms (three handguns and three semi-automatic rifles). Charged were:

• Sergio Velasco Mares, age 25, charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Delivery of Controlled Substance Schedule II, Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Iltzhen Gonzales, age 20, charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance.
