1PASS, the low-cost summer pass for Eugene/Springfield youth is now available for purchase. The pass allows youth 18 and under to ride Lane Transit District buses and access many local attractions at a discount or without paying fares or entry fees. 1PASS costs $50 and is valid from May 25 through Sept. 7, 2015.

“This unique public and private partnership makes recreation activities more affordable and easy to get to than ever before,” said Renee Grube, the executive director of the City of Eugene’s Library Recreation and Cultural Services Department. “We are working together to make Eugene and Springfield a better place for our kids to live and succeed.”

The pass was spearheaded last summer by Willamalane and Lane Transit District. New this year, Eugene Recreation pools have been added into the mix. Youth pass-holders can get into Echo Hollow Pool and Sheldon Pool for free or save 50% at Amazon Pool.

“1PASS is a great partnership to encourage more kids to get active and swim,” said Rich Fay, the aquatics section manager for Eugene Recreation. “It will allow more kids to access local pools.”

1PASS is available for purchase at Eugene Recreation pools, the Lane Transit District’s Eugene station and Willamalane Center. Free entry for youth pass-holders will be provided at the following locations:

• Sheldon Pool
• Echo Hollow Pool
• Camp Putt Adventure Golf Park
• Cascades Raptor Center
• Lane County Historical District
• Lane Transit District Buses
• Museum of Natural and Cultural History
• River Road Park District Pool
• Science Factory
• Shelton McMurphey Johnson House
• Splash! at Lively Park
• Willamalane Center
• Willamalane Park Swim Center

Besides the 50% entry fee discount at Amazon Pool, additional perks include buy one get one free tickets for Eugene Emeralds and Lane United Football Club games.

A limited amount of scholarships are available based on financial need. Applications can be found at willamalane.org and must be submitted by May 15.
