At approximately 10:19 p.m. last night, police officers responded to a reported assault and fire at a campsite near the West Bank bike path in the Copping Street area. Responding officers found a 57-year-old male who had been assaulted and the campsite on fire. The victim was transported to the hospital with severe injuries to the head, but was able to communicate with officers that arrived to the scene.
