FOX HOLLOW ROAD FIRE UPDATE
Fire crews have declared the structure fire at 32491 Fox Hollow Rd to be under control. It is anticipated that two to three fire companies will remain on scene until this evening for further overhaul and initial fire-cause investigation. Fox Hollow Road remains closed to through traffic between Owl Road and Cline Road. Approximately 20 emergency vehicles responded initially to find several out-buildings and vehicles involved with fire spreading to the southeast. There were more than 60-70 personnel from Eugene Springfield Fire and Oregon Department Forestry. The immediate strategy was to kept the fire contained to the area of origin and prevent further spread up Spencer’s Butte. There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
There were four to five houses on Cline Road (south of the fire) that were temporary evacuated as a precaution during the initial phases of the fire. The evacuations were handled by Eugene Police and that has since been rescinded. Community Emergency Notification System (CENS) was not used.
Fox Hollow Rd. is closed just south of Owl Road. Cline Road is open and accessible from the south.###
