[ARCHIVED] Teen Reports Attempted Abduction - Police Seeing Witness Help

An 18-year-old female has reported to police that a man attempted to abduct her yesterday, June 5, around 12:15 p.m. near 18th and Bertelsen.

As she was walking to her vehicle, a man tried to grab her. She was able to break free, run to her vehicle, and the suspect pursued her. As she tried to enter her white SUV, he forced open the door and attempted to pull her out. She fought back, kicking and screaming, and the suspect finally let go and fled the area in a 1990s (more curvy and less boxy) model black Chevy Extra Cab S-10 pickup.

The suspect is described as white male, in his 40s, 6-feet tall, muscular build, balding, with a neatly-trimmed goatee. He was last seen wearing dark sunglasses, a white, sleeveless tank top and unknown pants.

The teen saw several people nearby who may have seen the incident. Police would like information from any bystanders or witnesses. Please call 541.682.5111 and ask for Officer Aaron Johns. ###
