The suspect in the shooting, Daniel Garges, 38, of Eugene, has been arrested in the Salem area by Marion County Sheriff's Office. MCSO was assisted by Salem Police Department, Oregon State Police, Woodburn Police Department, Silverton Police Department, and Gervais Police Department.
Investigation is ongoing, with charges to be determined. The victim is stable condition. The incident involved domestic violence and police are withholding her information for safety reasons. ###

Police respond to shooting

At 3:08 p.m. today, Eugene Police were called after a woman in her 20s came to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Police responded to an apartment in the 1800 Block of Ferry Street to attempt contact with a potentially-involved party.
The woman and the involved subject are known to each other. The woman is currently in stable condition.
Police resources currently in the area include Patrol, Crisis Negotiation Team, SWAT, and Violent Crimes Unit. ###
