[ARCHIVED] Assault Reported on Raber Road

At approximately 2 a.m. this morning officers responded to the 600 block of Raber Road after neighbors called 9-1-1 and detained the suspect, Tyler Joseph Kowalchuk, age 20, without struggle.

The 50-year-old female victim reported being home alone when she heard noises. When she went to check, she encountered the suspect in the hallway and he attacked her. She was able to get back up and start exiting the house. She was able to hit the garage door opener and almost made it to the driveway before Kowalchuk caught her, took her to the ground and continued beating her. Neighbors heard her screams, came outside, and physically restrained Kowalchuk until the police could arrive. Kowalchuk was arrested for Attempted Murder, Kidnap 1, Assault 1, Robbery 1, Burglary 1, and Strangulation.
