Forest Keepers
Saturday, December 10, 2022
Join a small-but-mighty group to volunteer in the heart of the Hendricks Park Forest.
Are you detail oriented? Do you want to hone your experience identifying and removing tricky invasive species? Forest Keepers is a small-but-mighty group dedicated to removing secondary invaders (i.e. the plants that come up after Ivy and Blackberry are removed) in the heart of the Hendricks Park Forest.
In contrast to our monthly “Free the Forest” events, Forest Keepers is limited to just 6 volunteer spots. RSVP is required.
Projects are designed around tasks more suited to small, adaptive crews. Volunteers can expect habitat restoration and stewardship work throughout the forest. You might want to be a Forest Keeper if you prefer a quieter or less-crowded volunteer event, want to move around a bit more throughout the whole forest, or just want to come back and volunteer more often.
No special skills or tools are required.
Forest Keepers meet on Saturday mornings, from 9am to noon.
