Willamette River Festival: Mulchapalooza

Wednesday, August 19, 2020

Join fellow forest stewards mulching trees in the riparian area of Alton Baker Park and the Whilmut Natural Area.

Mulching helps to increase water retention, keep competitive weeds down, and allow for mowing space to reduce root compaction. Please bring/wear sunscreen and a mask. Tools, gloves and other supplies will be provided by Eugene Parks.

Registration required.

Please arrive in Alton Baker Park about 15 minutes early and plan to park at the Alton Baker Boat Ramp or in front of the Community Gardens space, following Day Island Road to the left, just past the main parking areas. The first paved right turn will take you to the boat ramp, or drive past to park in front of the Community Garden. You will need to walk to the radio town along the road from where you park – just follow the road on foot into the Whilamut Natural Area to the radio tower.
