Learn about the history of the original Eugene railroad station with a photo and video tour.
The current Eugene Amtrak station is one of five masonry stations remaining along the original Southern Pacific Railroad’s west coast line from Portland to San Diego. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, it was built in 1908 and purchased by the city of Eugene in 2003.
Before remodeling, the local Emerald Photographic Society won the bid to document the historic structure. See their work when Steven Baker of the City of Eugene’s Historic Review Board gives an illustrated talk in honor of Historic Preservation Month.
