Kids: Build

Tuesday, July 18, 2017

"Ancient Engineers" twice at the Downtown Library today: 1:00 and 3:00.

Kids: build a shelter, design a boat, weave a shoe, or invent a fishing tool using the technology of Oregon’s ancient engineers. Native American people have passed down science and engineering knowledge for generations to make effective tools, homes, clothing, cooking methods and more, including many innovations still in use today. This hands-on activity will be led by educators from the University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History.

Join the fun at the Downtown Eugene Public Library on Tuesday, July 18, 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. (Downtown only: pick up free tickets starting 30 minutes before each session.)

Or come to the Bethel Branch Library on Wednesday, July 19, 10:15 a.m.; or Sheldon Branch Library on Wednesday, July 19, 2:00 p.m.

The 2017 Summer Reading theme is "Build a Better World." While at the Library, kids can sign up for Summer Reading and choose a free book to keep. And adults who sign up for Summer Reading get a free flashdrive plus a coupon for a free coffee or $1 off books at the Friends of the Library book store.
