Keeping in touch: Notes from the Mayor

Mayor Lucy VinisThis blog aims to nurture our conversation and understanding of the issues before us. Every week, I will provide a weekly update on the activities in the city government, my activities as mayor, and brief reflections on progress, opportunities and challenges. Weekly Recap - June 16, 2017

Posted on June 16, 2017 at 3:31 PM by Elena Domingo

The big news is that as of yesterday, 305 mayors had signed a commitment to adopt, honor and uphold the Paris Climate Agreement goals! I’m proud to include Eugene among the cities who continue to do this work to protect our future.

On more local news, Council this week interviewed four of the six applicants to fill the vacant Ward 4 Council seat.  All were terrific candidates: Jennifer Yeh, Jennifer Solomon, John Jaworski and Caroline Lundquist. The final decision will be made at the Council’s June 26th meeting.

That same evening, June 26th, promises to be action-packed.  At the 7:30 session, Council will also vote on the FY 2018 budget and the Transportation System Plan.
