Keeping in touch: Notes from the Mayor

Mayor Lucy VinisThis blog aims to nurture our conversation and understanding of the issues before us. Every week, I will provide a weekly update on the activities in the city government, my activities as mayor, and brief reflections on progress, opportunities and challenges. You are invited to respond with reactions, insights and questions. We do this work together.

Weekly Recap - April 3, 2017

Posted on April 3, 2017 at 9:17 AM by Elena Domingo

Council has been on spring break since March 16th, but work continues on a number of fronts.

The agenda for our first session after break, April 10th, has been adjusted.  We will devote the work session to the plans and timeline for recruiting and selecting a new councilor for Ward 4. We are reinstating the regular meeting and public forum at 7:30 that had been cancelled. Council is postponing our goal setting session until a new councilor is on board.

On April 6th, the Mayor's Ad Hoc Committee on the Climate Recovery Ordinance will hold their first meeting to hear from staff about progress and implementation plans.

On other news, I was one of 47 mayors to sign a March 28th message to President Trump protesting his action to roll back the US commitments on climate change.  A link to that letter is here
