Our Planning Internship Program offers competitive internships for current students and recent grads. Our internships provide opportunities to earn academic credit toward completion of a degree, develop and work on thesis projects, & gain practical skills in a professional environment. The City of Eugene Planning Division is comprised of two working group sections:

Our interns have been involved in, and integral to the success of, a variety of planning related responsibilities and projects within these working groups such as:

  • The historic preservation program
  • Urban form illustrations
  • Urban growth boundary establishment (Envision Eugene)
  • Web development and design
  • Public outreach and participation
  • Development of design standards
  • Geographical information systems (GIS)
  • Land use application processing
  • Land use code updates
  • Natural resources

Current Openings

We are currently looking to fill one internship beginning in early June, 2018. The description of the position and application instructions are included below.
