Paid Family and Medical Leave

Employees can apply for this benefit through The Hartford beginning September 3, 2023.

Paid Family and Medical Leave (also known as Paid Leave Oregon) is a new Statewide program that ensures employees have the time and support they need to care for themselves and their loved ones when life's important moments affect their health and safety. 

The City of Eugene has been approved by the State to provide a Paid Family and Medical Leave equivalent plan through The Hartford.  The City's Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) plan will apply to all eligible City of Eugene employees, including Regular, Limited Duration, RAE, and City Temporary employees.

Beginning September 3, 2023, City employees can initiate a PFML claim by contacting The Hartford using the following methods:

Please be prepared to provide:

  • Name, address and other key identification information. 
  • Name of your department and last full day of active work. 
  • The nature of your claim or leave request.
