The Bold Steps Award recognizes Eugene-based sustainable businesses, and represents a partnership between The City of Eugene, Mayor Lucy Vinis, and BRING’s RE:think Business program. Since it was updated in 2014 from a semi-monthly award to an annual award, the level of competition has increased, as well as the visibility of the winner. Read the inspirational story about 2017's Bold Steps winner, PIVOT Architecture, here

For the City of Eugene, sustainability means considering and balancing all three aspects of the triple bottom line – people, planet and prosperity – to address the community’s present needs without compromising future generations. The Bold Steps award recognizes businesses that embody this vision and are taking bold steps in each area of the triple bottom line.
To qualify for consideration for the Bold Steps award, businesses must be certified through the RE:think program, offered through BRING Recycling. Through RE:think, businesses receive free, on-site consultation to reduce waste and save money. The Bold Steps application process is currently open and applications are due on September 1st, 2017.  To download a hardcopy of the application, click here.
