Hunsaker Lane Improvements

Why This Project?

Lane County originally identified a need for bicycle and pedestrian safety improvements on Hunsaker Lane in the 2017 Beaver-Hunsaker Corridor Plan. This planning process included extensive technical analysis and public involvement to establish a community-preferred conceptual design for Hunsaker Lane.

The Work

The City of Eugene received grant funding to improve transportation safety on Hunsaker Lane from River Road to Taito Street in accordance with Lane County's Beaver Hunsaker Corridor Plan. This project aims to expand low-stress active transportation connectivity and access within the Santa Clara neighborhood, as well as improve stormwater drainage conditions. Planned improvements to this portion of Hunsaker Lane include:
  • Sidewalks
  • Buffered bike lanes
  • Reconstructing the road bed
  • Stormwater drainage improvements between Summer Lane and Yvonne Street
