Eugene is partnering with Springfield and Lane County to update our shared public facilities plan, the Eugene/Springfield Public Facilities and Services Plan (PFSP). The goal of the update is to ensure the adequate provision of facilities and infrastructure (water, wastewater, and stormwater) in alignment with each city’s growth management plan and separate urban growth boundaries, with a primary focus to support housing development.
Eugene recently updated the Public Facilities and Services Plan as part of the recent urban growth boundary adoption to ensure that all residential lands could be served and is ahead of Springfield in terms of infrastructure planning, however; the housing landscape is ever changing and the contemplated updates to the shared plan will require coordination and cooperation between the two cities and their service providers.
