Meet Our 2020 Artist Grant Recipients

Kate Harnedy, Kathleen Caprario, Jorah LaFluer, Uyen-Thi Nguyen, and Cullen Vance received the first annual Artist Grant during the summer of 2020. Join the discussion to hear directly from the artists about their projects and how this grant impacted their practice. You'll also learn about next year's grant opportunities!
Percent for Art ArtTalk, Featuring Pete Goldlust, Melanie Germond and Matt Burney

Eugene artists Pete Goldlust and Melanie Germond were selected to complete two Percent-for-Art Projects in Eugene at Echo Hollow Pool and Campbell Community Center. During this ArtTalk, they will discuss their current and previous public art projects, and share their experiences and challenges in pursuing and completing these commissions. Joining them will be their collaborator, Matt Burney of So Metal Fabrication, to speak about the process from the fabricator's perspective.
A Conversation on Culture Raising
Thursday, August 12 • 5:30 p.m.
A panel discussion with artists TJ, Charly Swing, Greg Black, and participants who worked together to raise up our Native American and Indigenous community through the social practice photography piece titled Culture Raising, located at the Riverfront Park Plaza. The panel discussion will be led by LCC Longhouse Steward, Lori Tapahonso.

Tune in every Wednesday for Lane Arts Council’s Live Stream Happy Hours, 5 p.m. on Facebook Live. July and August will focus on visual artists and galleries. Selected past artist features are available to watch.
Social Media Highlights
Lane Arts Council launched the Artist Grant program for the first time in 2020 with funding from the City of Eugene. We are excited to continue offering grants again in 2021, providing financial support for artists of all disciplines living and/or working in Eugene. Grant applications will open in late summer 2021. The Artist Grant program is funded by the City of Eugene and administered by Lane Arts Council. Details will be posted here when available.
