BUILD Grant Application (2020)

Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grants are federally awarded funding for surface transportation infrastructure projects. They are awarded on a competitive basis for projects that will have a significant local or regional impact. Projects submitted for BUILD grant funding are evaluated based on: how innovative they are; how well they will enhance safety and quality of life for people; and how well they support economic competitiveness and environmental sustainability of localities and regions.


In May 2020, the Cities of Eugene and Springfield jointly submitted an application for funding for the Franklin Boulevard Opportunity Zone Corridor during the 2020 grant cycle. Unfortunately, it was not selected for funding. The project will be resubmitted for the 2021 funding cycle. The 2020 application materials are available below.
