Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Events & Community Leadership Award

The Human Rights Commission is seeking nominations for the Community Leadership Award and would like nominations from organizations, individuals or community groups. Please nominate a group or an individual who you believe demonstrates leadership in making Eugene a more inclusive and supportive city for its communities of color.

The deadline to provide a nomination  has been extended to 5 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Nominations may be submitted online, emailed to HRNI@ci.eugene.or.us, faxed to (541) 682-5221, or delivered to HRNI, 99 W 10th, Eugene OR 97401. Anyone who has received the award in the past, is a City of Eugene employee, or is currently a member of the Human Rights Commission is ineligible.

Each year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the City of Eugene Human Rights Commission recognizes an individual for their contribution in the area of human rights and race relations. This year the award will be given out during the NAACP event at the Shedd Institute directly following the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day march, on Monday, January 21, 2019.
